On my post of my birthday, I mentioned the average radius of the orbit of the Earth. Of course, I bet most of you educated people know that Earth does not orbit in circle. To those who don’t know, it orbits in an ellipse, which is basically like an oval. The distance from the Earth to the sun differs, but on average, it is 149.6 millions of kilometes. That is what astronomers use as what is called the astronomical unit. Space itself is so large that astronomers need a unit to represent millions of kilometers. Even then, it is useful only for the distance of a stellar system, since farther measurements requires the parsec or light years. Well, you could use the astro unit, but the number would be freaking huge. Perhaps it is useful if you put the prefix mega or kilo or peta or giga or…. etc. Read the rest of this entry »
I really detest them. They send you to read a bunch of books, mostly consisting of boring classics, and make you choose the lesser evils. Last year, I had the misfortune to read Emma, and it was so boring, and long *shiver*… Anyways, they make you take notes, and then write an essay. That is freaking retarded. A book is no fun if you stop to write notes every so often from the book. Frankly, they should give us a break. We spend 10 months in classes, mostly boring ones, and they do this to us. What kind of monsters are they! 😉 This year, I am reading Cien Anos de Soledad, and La Casa de los Espiritus. They better be good! I remember Charles Dicken’s books and Huckleberry Finn. I did not enjoy them at all. My favorite classic is Watership Down (can that be considered classic?), and I hope you have read it, or else…
The movie I watched was horrible. It wasn’t even so bad that it was good. It was horrible in every way possible. I didn’t think anyone could screw up a movie so badly. Well, someone did, and it was the most boring movie I have ever seen in my life. It was called Monster, and no, it wasn’t the “Monster” that has been critically well recieved. It is another very unknown movie that is called “Monster,” and it sucks really bad. Read the rest of this entry »
*birthday song* Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, and no happy birthdays for you guys 🙂 , happy birthday to me!
Oh, and the statement of no happy birthday applies to you guys who get it at August 10th too. 🙂 Oh, and a “miracle” has happened today. If you would have known me well enough, you would have known I hate the church because it is so darn boring. Well, guess what happened at MY birthday? A lightning struck my church during service and a fire alarm set up. I don’t know what burned, though, but it doesn’t matter. It is the only good thing that has ever happened to me on church, and on my birthday! 🙂 If there is a god and justice in this world, the clouds must be it.
So, yeah, this is my 18th trip around the sun. Yikes! That means I traveled in space relative to the sun (without counting relative to the Milky Way and the whole universe) 1,260,000,000,000,000,000 km!! (multiply 149.6^2 by pi, and then by 18 ) You know, I have been thinking, if the Earth stopped right now in its rotation and revolution all at once, firstly, we would smash against the walls, and be sent out flying, and the planet would probably melt from the shedding of all of those angular momentum (or melt, then desintegrate?). Isn’t that a nice thought to have during a birthday?
